If you want the job done well and quickly, use aircraft paint remover. Beware,
it's so bad smelling that I think it scares the paint off. Use a mask and
gloves place plastic on the floor to catch the droppings. Let it all dry them
dispose of properly.

3M makes a very good wing walk stick on application. This is not the standard
sandy black peel and stick you buy through Spruce and one would get it through
an aircraft paint supply store. Probably about $25 per square foot. Do the
math.

Randolph wing walk paint is the probably the best all around stuff. About $25
a can.

  Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Wing Walk

My coupe has a painted on wing walk with some type of non-slip abrasive
mixed in. It has started flaking and I wish to replace it. Any good
recommendations on how to remove the painted compound? My coupe is polished
aluminum, so I am leery of the abrasive here.

Also, does anyone have any strong opinions on what to replace it with? I was
looking to put those self-stick sandpaper type wing walks on.

  Thanks,
