I am quoting form the Ercoupe Service Manual publiched by Univair. Bending must begin at outboard end of aileron OPPOSITE heavy wing, and bending must be DOWNWARD. It has been detrmined that wing heaviness necessitating 5 degrees deflectionof control wheel from jeutral to hold airplane on course in flight can be corrected by 3/16 inch dodwnward bend for full length of trainling edge.
I used a pair of wide blade(jaw) vise grips, don't be afraid of this and work slowly and often and it will work out fine Oliver
