Tandy,

I use an ordinary small, square kitchen timer, with both count-up &
count-down buttons. I keep 2 in the plane: the spare has been useful
for timing a second operation, like CFI time, and also for when I've
forgotten to turn it off & the battery on one died. I think it was
at somewhere like Target (kitchen dept.) that I found the original
one I got. Radio Shack also carries them. Most of these have clips
on the back, which I attach either inside the plane or to my flight
bag strap. Aircraft supply places & pilot shops sometimes have a
single timer device that will time two separate things going on, but
that was more complicated than I needed to get.

Guys - I have been looking for a flight timer as my Coupe does not
have a Hobbs meter - nor does it need one. However, I want to use a
timer to check fuel burn. Right now I use the tach time but
recognize that it is not accurate unless certain RPM's are maintained.

I have tried the usual sources including A/C Spruce, etc but can't
find anything that meets my needs. Any ideas? I wan something that
I can use to time the hours and minutes from engine start to shut down.
