As I recall the service note about removing the aileron weights, it noted that 
the free play in the ailerons should be less than 5/16inch. If removing the 
weights so that no flutter would occur at high speed as was recently reported 
in this group. You should check this all times anyway but particularily when 
removing the aileron assemblys. See service memorandum # 57..  For 18 or 20 
bucks all coupe owners should have a copy for reference.  Call John at Skysport 
or Univair . This answers a lot of questions that are raised here and is not 
highly technical.  By the way, those weights were almost 4 pounds.
