Hey Chip: Welcome to the Couper's net. I have only been associated with Ercoupes for about 10 years, and I am not aware of any interconnect with a bungee cord that will allow you to step in and add rudder when you want it. The rudder pedal option disconnects the rudders from the ailerons. Lynn Nelsen
