My first ercoupe experience: It was june 6 midday, at KBNG 2250 msl, i had just bought the coupe and this was my first flight in 3452H along with Walt Wasowski. the temp was 109deg density altitude gauge read 6000ft. runway 26 at Kbng runs up hill, so off we went, ever so slowly. the coupe strained to get in the air, but finally became airborne, I'm watching the climb indicator bounce between 0 and 100 ft climb, walts looking at me im looking at walt, we were both so tense, you could have cut finder washers from our sfpincthers, walt finally said,"them houses arn't getting any smaller. well we finally managed to achieve 50ft AGL that same day, we did climb to 5500msl that day. i think we used about 4000 ft of runway.very exciting for a first flt.
