Mr. Biggs & all; HELP ! We have need of some asistance for a local Ercouper who is trying to obtain FAA approval some soemthing that should be easy....
Rick Eason out here in Merced CA wants to install a split tail on his 415C however he's having trouble obtaining approval from the local FAA. Does anyone out there have any type of documentation (STC or 337) that would support the approval of a split tail installation on an Ercoupe??? Thanks & regards, Dan Hall Here's what Rick has to say; I'm in the final stages of assembling a 415-C, that has been completely restored. I also have a C/D that I'm parting out. The C/D has an 'E split' elevator that I want to put onto the 'C' model. The FAA rep wants to send my 337 request out to some office called ACO(?), that could take a year to get the approval, as they need to determine the airworthiness of this application/modification. I'm looking for anything/everything that I can get my hands on to support this request. John at Skyport has been a tremendous help, but do you have anything for me?
