If the rules are changed to allow C models that now carry a 1400 lb
gross weight to revert back to their original manufacture gross weight
to fit in the light sport category, what do you think will happen to
the market value of light sport Ercoupes? Supply/Demand. Supply
increases, price will go down.
Forget about the $10,000 increase in value, it would be way less than
that.
Also, there are the RV-12 kits (light sport) that were just released
for sale at Sun-n-Fun that are selling like hot cakes. There is also
the possibility that the RV-12 might become a reasonably priced
manufactured aircraft and replace the demand for our 60+ year old light
sport aircraft thus driving down the price of Ercoupes even further.
Be careful what you wish for.
