Bill: Something that puzzles me: Nothing you have done has had any effect on the oil temperature. This tells me that either your engine has some sort of automatic temperature regulating mechanism that is compensating for all the things you do to cool it down (not!) or your gauge is not giving an accurate picture of what's going on.
What kind of gauge is it? Do you have an IR temperature sensor you can use? Point it at the oil screen housing and see if it agrees with the gauge reading (when it's reading high). If the cylinders are +.015 I'd be surprised if they are chrome. I'd get a boroscope inspection, though, to rule out annealed rings or glazed cylinder walls.
