Hartmut Now my question: What is everyone else using? What is the opinion about the latest Continental specs? The named Continental Gasket maker compound - what is that actually? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As an A&P/IA I am required to use the manufacturers manuals, parts, and Service Letters. TCM gasket maker is a tube of ...well....jelly. same consistency and about the same color. messy but works really well... stays sticky and pliable. Dont know what it is made up of. RAM aircraft says since they have used it they have no complaints about oil leaks from case halves. My engines didn't leak back when I used just permatex, and thread. The thread comes on a spool, in a TCM bag. with a TCM P/N..... Best advise is to make sure your mechanic uses TCM products and parts. when repairing your engines...send out for overhaul everything you can to save money. ECI cylinders are my personal favorite.
