We had one on our coupe and I HATED it. Takes too long, and too much fiddling to apply full power when you need to make a go-around.
Vernier throttles are for big airplanes with constant speed props, so you can set the manifold pressure very carefully and precisely. They have no place in airplanes with a fixed pitch prop.
