Just completed an Annual on our 415C Coupe, N3439H and only problems were slight corrosion on both metal aelirons at the outer seam. Right one on both sides and left only on bottom. Easily repaired. DG lately was spinning but suction was pretty high. Found broken hose at DG rear connection - works now. AT-50A Transponded died. Too much to repair so bought a used one from an Ercoupe owner in N.M. Hope it works. We have the C-85, climb wooden prop. Just for preventive maintenance replaced the rubber grommet on the fuel cap header tank, gaskets on both wing fuel tanks and ordered a new nose gear covering for the strut. Engine has 165 hours since major and compression in high 70's. TTAF is 1950 . Has the rudder pedals and LSA . Only problem - parking brake will not hold when I do the 1800RPM run-up and that is the only brake we have. New Cleveland brakes, linings are perfect but seems we cannot get them adjusted to hold at run-up. Any suggestions ??
We are on the KFDK hangar list and may get one in 2 years. The plane is bright yellow and we have a large canopy cover from Bruces. I wax it every 4 months with Turtle Wax but noticed there is a big difference in the paint between that area covered by the canopy and the area that bakes in the sun. Soon will hve a 2 toned yellow aircraft. Have a prop cover as well as cowl plugs.
