Wayne,

I think you have it just right. The only thing to learn on an Ercoupe 
is the control system. With the coordinated controls and no rudder 
peddles it is different from other airplane but this does not have to 
be messed with very often. Of course if one has an Alon with steering 
rudder peddles even this difference is not there. I think you are 
correct in saying it is most often that the Ercoupe owner is just 
plain cheap. I have seen this improve somewhat with the value of the 
Ercoupes rising but by and large we are still cheapskates.
