On my 1946 415C, when the McCauley prop was re-installed recently by an
A&E, he used McCauley Service Bulletin 227B and torqued the new 3/8"
prop bolts to 30 Ft-lbs. The Bulletin chart showed a range of 30 to 25
and he used the high side number. (He believes the high side number
was 25 ft-lbs when he did this several years ago). When he took the
prop off he mentioned a concern that the washers appeared to be bent-
in by the bolts. Please advise if you think I should be concerned
about either the 30 ft-lb bolt torque or the bent-in washers. Thanks,
Dennis
