Mr. Norris's book also covers propellors. A Very Interesting Read. It seems they are designed wrong. The tips need to taper down; flat ones simply turn RPM into noise. And a bigger (cruise) pitch is better at altitude. For those of us with long enough runways to get there... :-) Percy in NM, USA (with 10,000 and 13,000 foot runways)
