Out of curiosity, what model does the airworthiness certificate indicate?
Thanks,
Bill

Gang

I have a "D" model Ercoupe for sale, N94682. It is still on the FAA registry
as a CD but the log books show it was converted to a "D" so that is how I am
selling it, a "D". I have been an Ercoupe owner, pilot and enthusiast for many
years and over that time learned a little bit about them. I have learned that
there are many modifications made over the years that make the original
Ercoupe, a great little plane, even better. These modifications include:

Shoulder harness (not just seat belts),
Cleveland brakes
Circuit breakers to replace fuses
Double fork nosewheel
Spin-on oil filter
Oil quick drain adapter
Landing lights (this one has duel lights)
An alternator to replace the old generator (this one has a 60 amp alternator)
Split elevator..same as "E" model (makes for almost no trim adjustment from
idle to full power)
Alon style exhaust (gets the muffler away from the firewall)
Push button starter (easier and light weight)
Digital flip-flop radios

This Ercoupe has all these modifications...and they were all done legally! All
the proper paperwork was done and is in the logs. Almost all of this work was
performed by our resident Ercoupe Guru and frequent contributor to this list,
Lynn Nelsen.

In addition to the above, it has:
New Vertical Speed Indicator
New Artificial Horizon,
All new "U" joint on the ailerons
New bushing on the control column
All new rod ends
New header tank in 1994
New voltage regulator
Wings recovered in 1997
GPS antenna mounted on fuselage

Specifications:
Gross Weight-1400
TT-3057
SMOH-57 (That's right...only 57 hours on a major overhaul)
Prop-57 since new

Some interesting details: This plane was not flown from 1951-1963 and again
from 1970-1991. In 1992 it only had 679 hours total time! I flew it last month
from NJ to FL in nine hours without a hiccup. It has a Terra Digital Navcom, a
Terra Digital VOR head that shows you the "to" and "from" radial in a digital
readout, and a Terra Digital transponder. The transponder has a "VFR" button
to quickly switch you to a frequency of 1200. The display on the transponder
was dim so I sent the unit for a complete overhaul last month ($550). It now
is perfect. This plane was painted with Imron paint in 1994. The paint is in
very good conditions and shines beautifully. The paint on the leading edges is
the only area that is worn. It is scheduled to go into the paint shop next
week to have the leading edges repainted. It's yellow and black with a scallop
design on the wings. The interior is in great condition. It has an Airtex
interior which is just a few years old..black and red and in great condition.
Many Ercoupe cowlings are cracked and patched in multiple places from stress,
rocks and 60 years of use. This cowling was recently completely replaced with
all new parts from Univair, about $1000 in parts alone. It is flawless. This
Ercoupe has had $40,000 invested in it since 2001 (the engine overhaul was a
sizable chunk of that).

I am selling it for $26,500. You can find Ercoupes for $3000, $4000 even $5000
less, but you will spend tens of thousands to bring them up to the condition of
this one. I will have pictures available after the plane gets out of the paint
shop and at that time I will list it "to the public". If any of you are
interested, let me know. It is located in Florida at the Spruce Creek Fly-in
(7FL6) and you are welcome to come see it. Contact me at 917 297-1111 or
