Ercoupers
I sold N2013T a few months back to a gentleman in California. I ferried the plane from Florida to California in four days, with a headwind most of the trip. She is one of the nicest Ercoupes I have flown. She's a classic, with the two glove boxes and art deco chrome stripes on the panel. Sadly, for personal reasons, the new owner has decided to sell her (and a few other airplanes in his hangar). So, she is back on the market. The description I prepared when I sold her a few months ago is below. The new owner has made her even better with the installation of brand new mags and wiring harness. You can find Ercoupes for less money, but not in the condition of N2013T. If you want a trouble free Ercoupe that you can just get in and fly, anywhere, right now, without any concerns, this is the plane. She is a D model so she is not LSA compliant. I will be listing her to the public in a couple of days so if you are interested, please let me know soon. Asking price is $28,995. Thanks Glen [email protected] 1946 "D" model Ercoupe, N2013T (not LSA). Serial # 2689. Over 55 photos available at: http://glendavis.smugmug.com/gallery/6347609_68oHQ#400808680_qJj7S This Ercoupe is a CREAMPUFF! She was restored in 2002/2003 with every desirable modification by Lynn Nelsen, A&P / IA and renowned Ercoupe specialist. With only 1450 total time, this has to be one of the lowest time Ercoupes on the planet. The engine has only 375 since major and 45 since a top overhaul with NU Chrome cylinders. Most Ercoupes have an empty weight between 910 and 970 pounds. This beautiful bird weighs in at only 878 pounds giving her a payload of 522 pounds (and that was on scales, not pencil whipped). Fly her anywhere with the Terra digital radio stack including com, transponder and altitude encoder. The transponder has one button switching to squawk 1200. The panel mounted PS Engineering 501 intercom makes communication with your passenger effortless. The radio master switch shuts everything off/on easily. A new AKC ELT was recently installed. My favorite part of this airplane is the panel. It is gorgeous! Lynn restored this panel in 2002 to replicate the classic, art deco style panel the Ercoupes were born with in 1946. This includes the matching glove boxes and the chrome accent stripes. Even the throttle knob is original and color matched to the maroon yoke covers, trim handle and glove box handles. If you have an appreciation for the classic appearance of the original Ercoupe, this bird is for you. This panel is almost identical to the panel of the Ercoupes in the 1946 advertisements, except all the instruments and gauges are new and electronic. The old engine instruments (which had 180 degree engine oil running into the cockpit) were all replaced with Mitchell electronic instruments, keeping the oil on the engine side of the firewall, where it belongs. All the flight instruments are either new or newly overhauled. Two power ports were added to the panel to run your GPS, traffic monitor or any other toys you want to bring aboard. The interior was made by Airtex and is top grade. It's in beautiful conditions with no tears, fading or cracking. The baggage compartment was replaced with new in 2002. The airplane was painted with Randolph Polyurethane Juneau White and Bahama Blue in 2002. I would rate the paint as a strong seven. At the same time the engine case was painted Continental Grey. There is a fabulous scallop design on the wings, both top and bottom. The wheel pants are painted in a matching pattern. A belly strobe provides great visibility at night supported by the dual landing lights built into the main gear fairings. A 60 amp alternator replaced the original generator along with a new Zeftronics voltage regulator. New wing root fillets were installed in 2002. All the fuses were replaced by circuit breakers. An Alon style exhaust was installed to replace the original design where the muffler was against the firewall, creating a hot cabin. A nose gear oleo piston boot keeps dirt off the nose wheel piston. The "split tail" (E model) was installed which allows for almost no trim adjustment from idle to full power. Shoulder harnesses were installed for added safety as well as new seatbelts. The heavy old pull-type starter was replaced with a light weight push-button starter by B&C. Most of the interior airframe of the aircraft was prepped and Zinc Chromated in 2002 for protection from corrosion, including the center section. The battery box was prepped and Zinc Chromated. All the control rods have new control rod ends and were painted prior to installation. The window welting is new and the windows slide easily. The wings were recovered in Ceconite by Lynn in 2002 and the entire wing structure was carefully inspected at that time. The tail is at 75 inches, where it is supposed to be. Bellville springs replaced the rubber donuts in the landing gear so the removal and replacement of the rubber donuts every few years is no longer an issue and added expense. The lower cowling is split allowing for easy removal. A steel needle was installed in the carburetor at overhaul and new engine baffling was installed for proper engine cooling. A new Concord battery was installed at the annual (10/08) so this plane is in tip-tip shape to be flown anywhere without hesitation. There are three negative issues with this airplane. One of the rear windows has a crack and has been drill stopped. A picture on the website clearly shows this. Some of the white paint on the trailing edge of the horizontal stabilizer needs to be touched up. A picture on the website clearly shows this also. There is a small dent in the leading edge of one wing, about the size of a quarter and approximately 1/32 inch deep. A picture on the website shows this, too. Located in the San Francisco area. I will ferry this airplane anywhere in the US for $200 per day plus expenses. Contact me at 917 297-1111 or [email protected]. Glen Glen Davis 917 297 1111 www.ishootpictures.com
