Had a J3 with a continental engine that did the same thing. I think two things happen first the fuel in the header tank goes to 0 G.s ie it floats and 2nd the fuel in the carb also just floats and fuel induction is interrupeed thus fuel starvation to the engine results. Thats why airplanes that fly at unusual attitudes are fuel injected or have pressure carbs. Don't think Continental or URCO had such in mind when the coupe was designed
