Hey Bob: This is exactly why I and a few others, tell everyone that in order
to check those ribs behind the rear spar, one needs to put in the inspection
holes. I have found at least 6 Ercoupes with corrosion in this area

Thank you for being so helpful. I recently found the trailing edge rib
closest to the fuse, under the left wing walk, bad. Thanks to your
documentation of your bad rib on the right side of your Coupe, my AP
was able to easily replace mine.

"Honey", my Coupe, has had the center section inspected by four AP/Is.
(3 times with the wings off and once with a borescope.) It is amazing
that no one saw the corrosion. I was determined to not pull the wings
again so I put the inspection holes kit in the center section (Thanks
for the help from John at Skyport....). I immediately found the bad
rib.....

It is sure strange how that one rib could be so far gone (it looked
just like yours Hartmunt) and there is only surface corrosion anywhere
else. Thank goodness the rear spar showed none at all.

Thanks again,
Bob D.
