There are any number of possibilities as to the cause of teh problem.   I would 
suggest the following:
Check to see if the primer is working to make sure you are getting fuel.
If it is working, Prime the engine several times to ensure there is fuel to the 
engine.
Attempt a restart.  If it doesn't start,    Remove all plugs.
Rotate the prop and check each plug to see if it is firing. ( Make sure the mag 
switch is ON Both.
If all are firing, it means the mags are working ( not necessarily properly).  
If the plugs do not exhibit fire, remove the plug wire and see if there is 
spark from the wire to ground.
Check the plugs for fouling from oil or carbon.
If the plugs are fouling or old (many hours) Replace them and attempt a restart.
If the engine doesn't fire the spark may be too weak to fire under compression, 
have your AP remove and disassemble the mags to see if the points and/or 
capacitor needs replacing.  Then go from there.  Could be the coils or spark 
plug wires.  Could also be that the mags should be replaced with Slicks.
