When you all reply with general interest information, it's good to send it

Thanks for your response, Chas.

Subject: Re: How to store engine/plane for winter

Well I will have a go as far as pilot maintenance.
Fly the plane for at least an hour to make sure all is dry.
Oil change. I often thought an additional fuel primer into the
manifold which could be used to pump fresh oil into the running
engine before shutdown would work well to mildly inhibit.
Put an oil soaked spunge up the exhaust, and seal the inlet.
Put a light netting over the engine cowl to keep out pests.
Wash the aircraft and wax it. Use the oil can. Blow up the tyres
and park them on a board to keep them off the ground.
Either remove the battery to keep on trickle charge, or use a
   solar panel.
Cover the aircraft. Have seen neat covers made by slinging an
old parachute from a chord over the rafters down to the aircraft.
Just pull the chord and its out again.
Like I said thats a start. Starting the engine for short runs
   only makes condensation and corrosion.
Make sure the hangar is secure.
   Chas.
