A friend and smart (& silent) list member told me off list that one might use Styrofoam to space the battery, after he admonished me for having a 35 AH Concord. (When I got the plane, the mechanic selected the battery and I was clueless and new to all.) Yeah, the specs. call for a 25 - my next battery will be a RG Concord, likely a 25 as spec'ed - the XC is news to me, but sounds like a likely idea.
