CELEBRATION! After nearly two years (and $6k) spent in the shop for an "annual", my bird is back in the air, as of this past weekend!
I flew her in circles for an hour over the maintenance field and then brought her home. Admittedly, on the homeward flight, the directional gyro began spinning like a ceiling fan. And, sitting in the hangar, I found three fuel leaks. So, I will go back to have the leaks plugged and the gyro REMOVED, permanently. Will insert a GPS in the hole and use the compass indicator on it, along with my magnetic. Saves considerable weight, not to mention repair costs, I think. But, WE ARE UP! Dave Winters
