Bruce.

Service Memorandum 41 covers in very much detail (over ten pages) your request.
Much better than any of us could explain it to you.

You or your A&P should own the Memoranda and Service Bulletins. If that's not
the case, order one from Univair or Skyport. This book is worth it's money if
you want to do serious work on your Ercoupe.

18:27:48 +0000Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Nosegear Strut Disassembly

Ercoupers, the struggle continues. I am annualing my Forney F-1 and am in need
of advice on disassembling the nose gear strut. The lower bushing needs to be
replaced, and a repair kit is available through at least one source, and
probably others. The strut has been removed from the plane, however we are
stymied on how to get it apart to measure the bushings and order the correct
replacement parts. The service manual has not been much of a help except for
the more or less obvious procedure to remove the strut. Does anyone have a step
by step procedure they have used in previous strut work, hopefully referencing
the drawing in the Skyport Ercoupe Parts Catalogue (supplemented, pg 21a, fig
16a)I can contact you by phone or e-mail if you wish. Thanks,Bruce HunterN3000G
