I'm not sure what's going on here. I established the web site to let potential
attendees get an idea of who else is interested. Several folks have noted they
are happy I decided to take responsibility for the fly-in. But I never assumed
I'd be roped in as any sort of a coordinator. Hell, I don't even know what the
protocol is for organizing one of these meets, never having been involved in
such a thing before. It looked to me, and many others as well, tht the guys
who were setting up the Dayton fly-in just lost interest. I took the position
that we could attend Dayton just like we do Sun-n-Fun, make our own lodging
arrangements just show up.
Admittedly it would be nice if some agenda was in place but I don't think a
lack of one is a deal breaker. I'm willing to do some coordinating with other
local volunteer help. But I would appreciate some information on the position
of the EOC. I would be happy to assist whomever is or will be the Dayton
coordinator but lacking such a person I guess I'm it and I'll just soldier on.
BTW, as of early this (Saturday) AM ten folks had signed up, and several others
sent me e-mail indicating they probably would. One is awaiting confirmation of
the dates to clear his calendar.
