Ercoupe Friends,
I'm leaving this reply in Tech, because that is where this whole thing
has played out. This will be my last post on any of this, unless there
is real information available.
I really get a kick out of doing stuff with like-minded people, and it
seems that a strong commitment to something helps override any
differences, political, religious, or whatever. I have enjoyed meeting
many of you and I also enjoy throwing a party. That's why I did the
Mountain View fly-in last year and why I'm working with Andy to do the
Mountain View and Branson events this year. I have enjoyed the two
nationals I've gotten to attend, too.
My interest in Dayton is that it's a chance for a bunch of us to get
together, talk, enjoy our passion, and maybe take a flight or two
together. If the EOC is there to help, great! I appreciate them for
that! But hey, it's our party and we shouldn't have to rely on anyone
else to make it fun for us! So let's plan on gathering in Dayton on
the dates planned. If the EOC can give us some help, that's wonderful
and I'll gladly accept it. If not, I can't imagine a place I'd rather
be or a group I'd rather do stuff with.
So I intend to land at Moraine Airpark the afternoon of Friday, June
19, and spend the weekend. I hope to see some other coupes and have a
good time!

Kevin's question is not without merit and the discussion is healthy
and appropriate (as long as I'm not on the soapbox) as it does
promote a big part of Ercoupe ownership. It was honest and he never
got an answer so if you know something, I'd like to hear that rather
than your criticism of him. It seems that this forum quickly gets
hijacked when someone has the audacity to question the EOC. This is
not a forum for EOC, in case you've forgotten. I won't aggravate
myself about that any longer as EOC specifically matters not to me,
but your attitude isn't fair to the new people.
Not everyone is willing, able or qualified to be able to do
something for an organization and view the monetary contribution as
their part. Some folks don't realize that their small contribution
will make a difference. Some are happy just to have a club and
others choose to view past practices and policies and refuse to
attach themselves to an organization. If there are good people
doing things that benefit the membership then it's grand. Bad
people using the funds and supplementing their own personal boys
club, then it's not so good. Either way, everyone has to realize
that no org can be everything to everyone. What does matter is that
clubs need to realize that their members are their lifeblood and as
long as it continues to work to a common goal, it's doing the basic
job.
Shouldn't this discussion be over in "Flying"?

Kevin,
The acromonious statements posted by several persons are who made it
a personal matter. You contributed to them and seem to want to
prepetuate the issue. If you don't have something constructive to
add, just don't add.
This forum was set up to share information regarding the Ercoupe
with others, not to show how much one can criticize someone for
doing or not doing something or to show how much more one knows or
to show their self importance.
It doesn't matter how long someone has been a member. What matters
is how much good info has been spread to all involved.
If one has a gripe with a member it should be shared with that
member. I sent my comment to all because you have been so verbose to
everyone. Any further comments I have on this issue will be via
private email to the person involved.
