Hello fellow 'Coupers. I spoke with George from Moraine Airpark this afternoon. He said they would love to have us come there. There is a kitchen facility, and a restroom which will be left open all night for those of us bringing a pop-up. There is electricity available, but we would have to camp close togehter because it's apparently one area.?. George said Enterprise car rental also delivers rentals on- site for those wishing a rental car. We can also camp out (tent/sleeping bag)by our Coupes if we desire. There is a meeting room which could accomodate approx 30-35 people if needed for a maintenance meeting, etc.. I just got off of the phone again with the Holiday Inn on Dryden Road in Dayton (south). Theresa said she could reserve a block of rooms (25) for $65 per night. This rate is good from basically the 15th of June (Monday) thru the 21st (Sunday). Everybody would have to call in their own reservation (1-937-294- 1471), and would be responsible for cancelling the reservation also. However, Theresa said she understands about pilots being dictated by the weather, and as long as the reservation was cancelled by 6pm on that day, it would be honored. If anybody wishes to stay here, when you call in your reservation, tell them it is under the name "Ercoupe" (pretty original, huh?). Theresa will have Abby the banquet supervisor call me tomorrow to discuss a meal if we wish to do something on Saturday night or not. I'm just inquiring at this point. I know some of you are looking at other places to stay. That's fine, unless it comes down to shuttling people from several places. Please take this into consideration. I just remember Syd in Wausau trying to get people from A to B to C to D, etc.. The nice thing about these arrangements is that we are not sticking our necks (or funds)out. We don't have to guarantee #'s of any kind. So it is basically a come if you want to event. If the clubs want to make it an EOC sanctioned event, that's great. If not, that's OK too. It is just a good chance to get together and share food, fun, and flight in the absence of a national convention. AND, if anybody wants to take the "behind the scenes" tour at the Museum, those are usually done on Fridays and everybody would have to reserve a spot themselves. If anyone knows differently on this, please post the info. I am now going to go to the sign-up site to get my name in there. If there are any other questions, please ask. I will try to get the answers for us.........Woody N94176
