Carl and all,

We have the forum set so, if you just hit <reply>, your message will go ONLY
to the sender of the message to which you are replying.

This keeps the forum cleaner because, on many forums, a fair percentage of
responses are only meant for the one person who sent the original message.
Too many responses are, "me too."

So, if you want to send a message to the forum, you MUST change the address
in the <To> line.

If I'm answering a specific *important* question, I usually hit <Reply All>
and then EDIT the address lines to include only those who should receive it.
In this case, I'm answering a question from Carl and I want to be sure he
gets it so I left his address in the <To> line. Since everyone could use
this info, I also included the forum address. Carl will get two copies so I
use this sparingly.

For most responses, I just send the response to the forum because even the
questioner will get it (usually).

I think most responses that seem to fall in the bit bucket do so because you
hit <Reply> and didn't notice that the reply went ONLY to the sender of the
replied-to message.

We are also seeing cases in which messages sent to the forum are echoed to
everyone EXCEPT the sender. This also happened on Tom Laird-McConnell's
server and sometimes happens on some forums I use hosted in England. Only
Bog knows why. (If you don't get an echo of a message you send, go to the
Yahoo forum and look to see if your message shows up there. If it does,
then it's likely everyone did receive it.)
