That was all my mistake..Not the DC8, but the Boeing 707 ptototype.
 
The AOPA article is a great article, addressing crosswind landings in a coupe, 
general flying and reference to Johnston teaching new 707 pilots to land in a 
crosswind.

BOEING used Ercoupes in the original DC-8 training???? ????
The DC-8 was built by McDonnell Douglas.
I don't know whether to believe you guys or not.
