Folk: The thing in the "pitcher" is *not* the data plate. That's a tag mandated some years back by U.S. Customs. The data plate is the thing issued at birth by the type certificate holder, with the manufacturer, serial and model numbers, engine model, type certificate number, date of manufacture, etc. You cannot buy a data plate from Aircraft Spruce or Wag-Aero. You can buy a customs tag from them.
If you do not have a data plate, you do not have an aircraft; you have a big pile of aircraft parts. On a 415C the data plate was originally on the hat shelf opposite the master switch. John Cooper Skyport Services www.skyportservices.net
