BASED ON RECENT EXPERIENCE:

 

Clean the tracks well before installing the welts..

 

Do not scrimp on adhesive to install the welts..

 

Make sure the welts are FILLED while the adhesive dries.  (Pieces of
corrugated cardboard are good for this job.)  Otherwise they may dry with
the window slot pinched closed..

 

Inserting the windows is really a 2 man job.  Saves lots of cussing and
breakage.

 

DO NOT CUT THE WELTS IN ORDER TO INSERT THE WINDOWS.  NO SLOTS, NOTHING.
JUST PULL THEM IN VERY GENTLY.  If you have a sharp edge on a window, gently
file it off.  This helps avoid slicing the welt as you insert the glass.

 

Use spray-on silicon lubricant to slide the windows in.

 

DO NOT PUSH THE WINDOWS IN.  PULL THEM.
