There was one guy that had a door arrangement (approved- I think) Took out the seats and replaced them with only one seat for the pilot. As I remember reading his only problem was he could only fly solo, but that was O.K. with him. A lot more exists about the door, Etc. His lessons were in an Ercoupe. Of course at that time there was no need to take the W/C. Possibly some of you are more familiar with this and can offer some sensible advice.
