Perhaps we can twist it around a bit and say that the conservatives (evil empire) won't spend money on proper maintenance and upkeep of their Ercoupes, placing them in the position most are in now, and the liberals (Jedi) are willing to spend what it takes on proper maintenance issues taking personal flight safety into account.
