Dan,
I didn't see your message, but there has been a post regarding this issue by 
John.  The fuselage tank should be vented.  If using the original wire 
indicator, the tank is vented through the hole through which the wire travels 
up and down.  If using the gauge with the glass tube, it is vented through the 
cap or the glass I don't remember which.  Regardless the fuselage tank must be 
vented.
