Hey Kate: I know it seems logical to install the welt with the felt touching the window, but as Hartmut explained if you install it that way, the felt will cause the window to be hard to move and will eventually cause a real problem. Install the welt with the felt on the outside. You will be much happier with the final result. Lynn Nelsen In a message dated 5/6/2009 5:07:21 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:
Hi all, Ready to install new window welts in the Ercoupe 415-C. Have all parts that were in the way removed (side panels, old windows, etc.) Thanks to Syd we have a good recommendation on adhesive. All I need to figure out now is how to install the welts. The diagram from Univair shows the felt going into the track (not touching the window). Is this normal, & why? We'd like to make sure we have the welts going the right way, and it doesn't seem logical for the felt not to be against the window. Thanks, Kate ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
