Hartmut,
It sounds like they completely drain the header tank in order to do the inspection on the fuel pump? Is this normal or necessary? If the problem is that the header tank is empty as well as the pump itself, then why not pour some fuel into the header tank from the airport fuel pump or from the fuel can they drained the fuel into? (By the way, is the input line for fuel coming into the header tank at the bottom or somewhere up the side?) There's certainly no need to hook an electrical pump up to prime the mechanical pump - Coupes run the main tanks dry every once in a while. They get back to pumping with no intervention. I'm not knowledgeable in this area. Curious. Ed
