Tom,
The easiest (and possibly the best fix) would be to close the fuel valve 
when you shut down the engine. While it is probably true that it should 
not leak, the actual fact is that it may leak at almost any time and 
never at a good time. Yes, it can be fixed so that it should not leak 
BUT that doesn't mean that it won't.
