Harry,
The Floor Was Level and the tires properly inflated.
I was not aware the that an incorrect spring length could be installed in the
nose strut. I will check for the the 6 3/4 inch length mentioned in Lynn
Nelsen's post. I was also unaware that I could have an incorrect number of
doughnuts. The serial number of my bird is 4859 built in late 1947. How many
doughnuts should there be?

Albert,
Are you sure the floor that the coupe is sitting on is level...and the
main gear tires and nose wheel tires are properly inflated ??
It also certainly could be due to the incorrect length "taxi " spring
in the nose gear....
Did you instal the proper number of rubber doughnuts in the main gear ??
s/n later that 813 ? Main landing gear was changed at 813 and later.

It is a new dual fork nose gear kit. I think the wheel was 1" larger
then to one that was removed.
I am not sure. Will look the next time I visit the Coupe which is 100
miles south of Hayward.
The new assembly is part # SK17A ercoupe nose gear kit. cost
$1995.55, + Labor of $150.00.

Hey AL: It sounds like you have the wrong spring installed in your
Ercoupe's nose strut. When you say "install a new front fork wheel assembly,"
is it single fork or dual fork, and what size is the wheel? How much strut
shows when the aircraft is sitting static with the 71 inch tail height? You
should have 2 3/4 to 3 inches of strut showing. if you have more or less, you
need to take the nose strut off and determine what you have. The correct spring
length is approximately 6 3/4 inches.

This is what I have: The sill is one full bubble off level and
the tail is 71 and a half inches high.
This is what I have done: Had my AP, IA, install a new front fork
wheel assembly. Service the main landing gears.
Installed all new rubber disks (pucks) on the main gears. Install
the 7/16" spacers that I purchased from skyport.
What do I do now? Add a second 7/16" spacer? Replace the 7/16"
spacer with a 14/16" spacer?
Something that I have no clue of?
