Hey Alan: You will need at least a 50 AMP if you change the wiring. I have gotten approval to put the 60 amp alternator in Coupes using the original wiring and fuse. Of course, you can blow the fuse if you run the battery down, or short the wire. 99% of the time however, it works just fine with the original 30 amp fuse and wires. I am installing a 60 amp alternator in the project coupe with the matching voltage regulator and a shunt and a 60 AMP meter. I also have to put a circuit breaker or fuse in the line from the alternator but nothing tells me the required amps for the breaker. Is it also a 60 amp breaker?
