Hey ED: Welcome to the Ercoupe.
The original Pitot tube had a fitting soldered to it which had four
holes. There were 4 # 6 screws that held the assembly to the wing. The same
system was used on the metal wings as on the fabric wings. If you cannot
repair what you have, I would call Vernon Gregory in SC, who buys and sells
used Ercoupe parts. He is bound to have a good one he can sell you.

Been an EOC member since first of the year but only to monitor. Have now
picked up my new coupte (2214H. On ferry flight noted AS seemed to read
high. Checked the pitot placement per your other instructions and noted the
whole assembly is loosely mounted. In lieu of item #15 of your system
diagram (the exit from the wing) the tube asssembly is held in place by some
sort of compound that is now loose and allows the assembly to move. This is
a metal wing. Is that the intended mounting or is there supposed to be
some assembly holding the pitot assembly more rigid? So: how is the pitot
assembly supposed to be mounted to the wing, what are the correct mounting
parts, and where should I look for them? Otherwise really enjoyed my flying
in the Coupe and looking forward to many more hours. Ed
