Ed, Here's a diagram of the mount details for the pitot/static tube that one of the members scanned from the parts manual. http://edburkhead.com/images/PITOT.jpg
Note that it's the thick tube under the wing with the pitot opening at the end of the tube and the static openings around the sides of the tube. If you have the entire parts manual page, you'll probably also have the lines that tell just what each numbered part is. Don't count on the mounting issue solving the high airspeed indication. We've long noted that as they age, many airspeed instruments show higher and higher airspeeds. Often a replacement of the ASI with an overhauled instrument or a new instrument is needed. Once you've fixed the mount issue, you can test the ASI by doing a flight check and following these guidelines and procedures: http://edburkhead.com/Ercoupe/airspeed_indicator_errors.htm Congratulations on getting your new plane! Fly joyfully and wisely. (We seem to be getting quite a collection of Eds here.)
