I would not recommend using an electric vacuum cleaner to clean out a fuel
tank. This issue was discussed about a year ago.

Most electric vacuum cleaners have a brush type motor and brushes arc.

If you have flakes it is best to bite the bullet and overhaul the tank
properly. Someone in the past sloshed it as a quick fix and now problems are
starting.

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] Is anyone there?

I guess everyone is at the EOC. Wish I was.
Started the Coupe today and had no oil pressure (sat for 3 months). guess i'll
do the old oil filter prime trick I have read about. Any better methods?
Trying to figure out what to use to cover up the dash(I removed all but the
essentials)and now need a way to cover the holes in a nice fashion.
Here is my questions of the day.
1. My header tank seems to have a crack in the edge / seam under the bracing
strap. Can you use a tank epoxy to repair it or ?????? .I would rather not take
it out.
2.One of my wing tanks has what looks to be a sealing agent inside. It has
curled up.Can I drain the tank and remove it with a shop vac.....it looks
loose.
I did use a heat gun ,from a distance to help peel the military stars off the
wings.Worked ,but left a lot of the glue on the wing. What is safe to use to
get that off.
