http://glendavis.smugmug.com/gallery/8835049_ZzbnK/1/585478777_ZDpzf Ercoupers I have just acquired a true C model Ercoupe (never converted to a D model so it really is LSA compliant). N93312, serial number 635, was last licensed in 2001. The owner became ill and didn't fly or license it again, although he did run the engine several times every year for the past 8 years. The log books start in 1956. Book #1 from 1946 to 1956 is lost. There is no damage history. Total time on the airframe is 1350 hours. Time since major overhaul is 857 hours. When it was annualed in 2001, new tires, a new fuel pump, new navigation lights, a new compass and a new ELT were installed. (Attached photo was taken in 2001), The seat was also recovered at that time. The wings are Ceconite and were recovered in 1995. Compression at last annual was in the mid 70's for all cylinders. The engine, a C-75, was last run in 2008. I removed the wings yesterday and inspected the center spar for corrosion...none was found. I also removed several of the inspection covers in the wings and found no corrosion. In fact, the entire wing structure was inspected, prepped and zinc chromated in 1995, before the wings were recovered. The aircraft is polished aluminum with yellow and black trim. It has a dual nose fork. The panel is the original, classic Ercoupe panel with glove box doors on both sides and the instruments in the original factory configuration. I am offering this aircraft as a project, as-is. If I do not sell it as-is, I will have the following work done and put it on the market at more than double the price. 1.Repair small tear in wing fabric (about 2 inches) and rejuvenate the wings with Ceconite wing rejuvenator (they are faded, cracked and unsightly). 2.Replace the brake master cylinder 3.Repair small leak in header tank 4.Install new Dzuz fasteners on cowling doors 5.Install new interior 6.Replace all hoses 7.Install new battery 8.Repair or replace, if necessary, all windows (hazy, not cracked). A Micromesh treatment might work. They were all installed new in 2001. 9.Replace window welting 10. Service brakes and struts 11. If necessary, I will have a top overhaul done on the engine. 12. Have the annual inspection completed As I have all my work done by an Airframe and Power plant mechanic with Inspection Authority, I pay standard shop rates. I estimate my cost for the above work, including the top overhaul (if necessary), to be $8,000. If you can do some of this work yourself, the savings will be significant. There are some dimples in the metal from hail. While this is not an airworthiness issue, it is unsightly so this plane will never be a show winner, unless the dimples are addressed. At some point in the past the wing tanks were repaired with spot welds on the outside. While functional, they are unsightly. I have tried to describe the plane to the best of my ability but I am not a mechanic. It is being sold as-is. Please feel free to inspect it yourself or have a local mechanic inspect it for you. This aircraft has lived in Maine from 1956 to the present. It is currently hangared at KOWK, Central Maine Airport in Norridgewock, Maine.
