I can tell you without a doubt that the left side hose which attaches
to a shroud on the left exhaust stack is for cabin heat on my
airplane. I flew an entire winter with that shroud missing and the
scat going from the baffle to the cabin and froze my nether parts off!

I had received different answers regarding (Scat) HOSES
so I questioned my Maintenance people.
The answer I got for my engine (Ercoupe "G" C-85) was:
On the Left side of the engine scat hose went to the cabin heat.
On the right side of the engine another one went to the carb heat.
We also tightened a very loose fuel line clamp on the left side of
engine.
An annual was recently completed too!
Now then,
I don't know which is correct.
I received eight E-mail ercoupe tech answers with a split (left /
right) decision
