You guys (and gal) have got me reconsidering. I have Telex noise
cancelling headsets that
don't cancel much. I've found that my 3M headsets that I use on my
tractor and mower block
much more noise than the ANR Telex! Problem is they don't have
speaker or mic; but I'm now
thinking I can wear them over a Clarity Aloft..... am I wrong?

I second what Linda says about the Clarity Aloft. I tested DC and
Lightspeed Active noise models and found the Clarity to be just as
good, noise-wise, but blocks a different frequency than the active
noise cancellation headsets. Perfect for an Ercoupe. And since we
sit in a "Goldfish Bowl" canopy, you can't beat the ability to wear
a hat (No headband over the top). Had them for several years, and
they're still the best!
Clarity Aloft will be at OSH, I'm betting... (always are) and
usually have the doctor who designed the system there, who can
advise you on things like the size foamys for your particular ear
canal, and best angle to insert. Usually, there's some show special.
PS. I find that I can hang my headset under the dash when I get out
by slipping the mic boom over the metal fuel line that goes across
at the bottom of the panel. Doesn't get in the way of entry/exit,
and is really handy. I don't have radios under my panel.
