Personally, I find the description "Trim Wheel" needlessly confusing.
Early Ercoupes had a panel-mounted trim Crank for adjustment. Then a
lever was installed to the left of the pilot mounted supported by the
fuselage structure. With the 415-D and subsequent, an "Airliner-style"
quadrant was placed in the center of the
lower instrument panel with separate levers for Trim and Throttle.
Late Forneys (and perhaps Alons and M10s?) relocated the trim between
the bucket seats where many cars have the emergency brake. Some owners
have changed their trim control to a Vernier knob on the panel, perhaps
with a 337(?).
Ed, your bird should have the panel-mounted quadrant shown in the
Ercoupe Parts Catalog on p. 36, Fig. 23, Item 39.
