I want to throw  this out for comments:: I am considering changing my 
airworthiness cert. to experimental.  The local FSDO (FAA) has said they will 
not consider any "field approvals" on flight systems, fuel systes, or interior 
seating even when I have copies of previously approved 337's.   These changes I 
refer to are using the split tail on my CD, gascolator mounted on the firewall, 
and installing Forney seats using parts from the Ercoupe parts list.  The local 
EAA members I talked to say that it would be no problem to make the change,  
but impossible to later change it back. My insurance Co. says no problem.
 
I don't plan to make any other changes if I go this way other than installing a 
3-bladed composite ground adjustable prop.
 
What about it guy's.  Comments pro and con  I appreciate hearing from you!!!!!!!
