Bill Biggs,

Take a deep breath and read it again. Ask an English teacher's opinion.

I stated "You and Kevin (and other certificated mechanics) are presumed to be
the "professionals".
Your certificates make you "professionals". Accepting money for your work
makes you "professionals". You do that, right?

My name, Kevin's name and your name topped a majority of posts to this thread.
There were other "professionals" posting, and so I lumped your two names with
theirs collectively. My name topped the post. I most certainly did NOT
separate you two out for adverse comment.

In the next sentence I used the word "you" in reference to the above, as in
"you professionals"...all of you. Do you disagree with any part
of the opinion expressed in that sentence?

I will clarify my final sentence as a courtesy. It seems self-evident.

The words "This discussion" were in reference to all posts comprising the
entire Skull Cap Spinner thread, without exception. Without pointing the
finger at any individual "professional" certificated mechanic I was inviting
any and all to re-read those posts in order to see if any "raised serious
questions" in their mind as to the credibility of each contributing
"professional".

Those posts in which I perceived conspicuous reluctance of the author to admit
they might lack knowledge here and there pertinent to the practice of their
craft "raised serious questions" in MY mind. If my mechanic doesn't know
something, I would judge hiding that fact from me unethical and a betrayal of
trust. I left it to each reader to go back, read the posts, draw their own
conclusions, or not.

To summarize, "this discussion" raised serious questions in MY mind,
unspecified, that others might or might not identify.

I fail to see what I should apologize for and why.

Bill Bayne,

I quote you:

"My suggestion that persons voting the final "poll" option referred only to
those who
would vote "I don't give a rat A**". My opinion remains that if they don't
like or enjoy
"tech Talk" they should not be encouraged or express an opinion disrespective
of
those that do. I am entitled to that opinion but I should have been more
clear."

Just what do you call the quote in red!

"You and Kevin ( and other certificated mechanics) are presumed to be the
"professionals".

The rest of us are required by the Federal Air Regulations (collectively) to go
to you for a
majority of our maintenance and less knowledgeable owners rely utterly on your
familiarity
with same. This discussion is raising serious questions as to whether such
reliance is"
justified or prudent.

I take this as a personal afront directed specifically at Kevin and myself. And
would suggest a formal apology is in order.
