Doris,1) A local coupe owner fixed his high oil temp readings by installing a new oil temp gage.2) Low engine oil levels will show as increased oil temp. Being a quart low should not be a problem.3)One area that is very important is sealing the area above the cylinders so that all or most of the incoming air is forced down and thru the cylinder fins.
