I have in the past reluctantly used a plastic coated clamp on the rear 
end to hold the cowl open - it's barely ok if there is no wind (the 
clamp holds the tail of the hinged part to the stationary piece up near 
centerline) - crappy solution, but beat getting my FLYING HAT (or hair, 
such as it is) greezy
